The Augusta University Sickle Cell Center, established in 1972, is a comprehensive internationally recognized center for sickle cell treatment and research. The center incorporates the work of Augusta University faculty from medicine, pediatrics, hematology/oncology, allied health, anesthesia and perioperative medicine, biostatistics and epidemiology, molecular biology, and other specialties.
