Description:
The CCDC26 gene contains 4 exons and spans over 328 kb. It is a non-coding RNA primarily known for its involvement in acute myeloid leukemia and other cancers. It may play a role in erythroid differentiation through the transcriptional regulation of globin genes. Suppression of CCDC26 RNA in K562 cells resulted in switching transcription of globin from the fetal type to the embryonic type by downregulation of FOG-2.
