Description:
MicroRNAs (miRNAs), such as MIR130A, are small, non-coding RNAs that play key roles in the post-transcriptional regulation of gene expression by targeting specific mRNAs. Overexpression of MIR130A associated with the deregulation of the re-epithelisation processes, granulation tissue formation, and wound healing in diabetic patients with chronic venous ulcers. Similarly, overexpression of MIR130A associated with leg ulcers in sickle cell anaemia (SCA).
