B3GAT2 (beta-1,3-glucuronyltransferase 2) is a transmembrane protein belonging to the glucuronyltransferase family of detoxification enzymes. BECN1P2 (beclin 1 pseudogene 2) is a pseudogene. Generally, the protein beclin-1 is implicated in autophagy-regulatory signaling pathways. A variant located in the B3GAT2-BECN1P2 intergenic region associated with F-cell levels in children with sickle cell disease (SIT trial).
